As a lifelong knife enthusiast and collector, I began making fixed blade custom knives in 2004. I like the challenge of a double-ground knife and am particularly devoted to the knife styles of SR Johnson and Bob Loveless. My preferred stock is ATS-34 or 154-CM. I strive for perfection in the creation of my knives, from designing the blades and selection of the handle material to the creation of a mirror polish. I believe a knife should be of collectible quality and still provide a lifetime of use. To see examples of available styles of knives, click here: KNIVES.

Steve Gatlin was born and raised in the small town of Andalusia, Alabama. He grew up hunting and fishing along the Conecuh River and has always appreciated the usefulness of a well-made knife. His interest in making knives began after purchasing the book, "How to Make Knives" by Bob Loveless and Richard Barney. After attending the Blade Show in Atlanta in 2003, Steve came home on fire to make his own knives and has barely left his shop since!
